Molecular Interaction Mechanism between Aromatic Oil and High-Content Waste-Rubber-Modified Asphalt

چکیده
High-content waste-rubber-modified asphalt (HRMA) has high viscosity and poor storage stability. HRMA not only improves the properties of road asphalt, but also reduces environmental pollution caused by waste tires. Enhancing molecular interaction rubber is key to making full use HRMA. In this paper, aromatic oil was used as activator for rubber. The mechanism between investigated. radial distribution function, diffusion coefficient, free volume, solubility parameter, shear were calculated through simulations. Storage stability, micromorphology, adhesive force measured via experiments. HRMA−1 (4.9 nN) lower than that RMA (6.2 HRMA−2 (5.8 nN). results show can promote dispersion rubber, systems stable. There exists a strong electrostatic asphaltenes an intermolecular or aromatics, which makes aromatics parcel molecules highly soluble in asphalt. Molecular simulations confirmed oil, shown reduce

An overview of crumb rubber modified asphalt
Roadways are considered one of the most important elements of infrastructure and they play an essential role in our daily lives. In road pavement construction, the use of crumb rubber in the modification of bitumen binder is considered as a smart solution for sustainable development by reusing waste materials. It is believed that crumb rubber modifier (CRM) could be one of the alternative polym...
متن کاملEngineering characterisation of epoxidized natural rubber-modified hot-mix asphalt
Road distress results in high maintenance costs. However, increased understandings of asphalt behaviour and properties coupled with technological developments have allowed paving technologists to examine the benefits of introducing additives and modifiers. As a result, polymers have become extremely popular as modifiers to improve the performance of the asphalt mix. This study investigates the ...
متن کاملAnalysis of the Relationships between Waste Cooking Oil Qualities and Rejuvenated Asphalt Properties
Waste cooking oil (WCO), in many cases, can rejuvenate aged asphalt and restore its properties. However, the influence of WCO qualities on rejuvenation behaviors of aged asphalt has not been investigated in detail. The objective of this paper was to evaluate the effects of WCO viscosity and acid value on the basic, rheological, and chemical properties of a typical rejuvenated asphalt. Penetrati...
متن کاملStudy of the interaction between asphalt and recycled plastics in new polymer modified binders (PMB)
The aim of this study is evaluating the interaction between several base pen grade asphalt binders (35/50, 50/70, 70/100, 160/220) and two different recycled plastics (EVA and HDPE), for a set of new polymer modified binders produced with different amounts of both recycled plastics. After analysing the results obtained for the several polymer modified binders evaluated in this study, including ...
متن کاملPolymer Modified Asphalt Emulsion
In road paving industry, asphalt emulsion is used for cold mix application such as chip seal, slurry seal, microsurfacing, cold recycled mixture and etc. Asphalt emulsion has several advantages compared to normal asphalt such as eco-friendly, easy to handle at ambient temperature and energy saving material because it does not need any heating process in its application. The history of asphalt e...
